Abstract

Latar Belakang: Tuberkulosis (TB) merupakan salah satu penyakit menular mematikan di dunia. Tuberkulosis merupakan tantangan global karena dapat berkontribusi terhadap morbiditas dan mortalitas. Ada beberapa faktor risiko yang menyebabkan TBC. Salah satu faktor yang dapat menyebabkan penyakit tuberkulosis adalah perilaku merokok. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan kebiasaan merokok dengan kejadian tuberkulosis.

Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Penelitian dilakukan di RSUD Dr. Moewardi dan BBKPM Surakarta pada bulan September hingga November 2017. Subyek penelitian dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik Accidental Sampling yang terdiri dari 250 pasien TBC. Variabel terikatnya adalah tuberkulosis. Variabel bebasnya adalah merokok. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan chi square.

Hasil: Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil bahwa risiko TBC meningkat secara langsung dengan kebiasaan merokok, yang dibutikan dari hasil pengolahan data CI 95%= 1.88 hingga 5.66 dan p<0.001.

Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara merokok dengan kejadian tuberkulosis.
