Gen AI Policy
- Policy Purpose
This policy is designed to regulate the use of Gen AI in writing journal articles published in the Health Sciences and Pharmacy Journal (HSPJ). The use of Gen AI must be conducted ethically, transparently, and in accordance with academic standards in the scientific article publishing process.
- Scope
The scope of this Gen AI policy applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and all parties involved in the publication of articles in the Health Sciences and Pharmacy Journal (HSPJ).
- Principles of Generative AI Use
- The use of AI is not prohibited as long as it is used as an aid in the writing process and does not replace the author's academic competence.
- Misuse of AI is not permitted, especially if it violates academic ethics in article publishing, reduces the authenticity and originality of data, or produces invalid and unreliable data.
- The truth, authenticity, and integrity of published articles are the sole responsibility of the author.
- Permitted Forms of AI Use
The use of AI is still permitted and permitted to assist in improving grammar and writing style, creating summaries that are not part of the substance of the article, assisting in drafting conceptual frameworks and basic frameworks for writing articles, and its use in written analysis without the intention of manipulating research results.
- Prohibited Uses of AI
Publishing articles prohibits the use of AI for:
- Generating research data, empirical findings that are not derived from original/evidence-based research, or simulations using AI.
- The entire manuscript is generated by AI without any scientific or academic contribution from the author/researcher.
- Creating fictitious quotes or falsifying citations using AI is prohibited.
- Obligation to Disclosure the Use of AI
Authors must state that AI was used in the article in the acknowledgment or in the author's notes.
Example:
This article used limited use of Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Deep Seek) to assist with language refinement and did not affect the scientific substance of the article to be published.
- Ethical Responsibility
Authors must ensure that the use of AI does not violate copyright laws, breach data confidentiality, or otherwise violate academic ethics.
- Actions for Violations
Any violation of this policy may result in sanctions, including mandatory revisions, rejection of the manuscript, and even withdrawal of the article if the violation is identified after publication.
- Policy Revisions
This policy will be reviewed and updated periodically in accordance with technological developments and ethical standards for scientific publication.
